Terms of Service

The terms you agree to by using Menos, an offline motivation app from Pixelbrew Studio.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By downloading or using Menos (“the app”) you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.

Menos is published by Pixelbrew Studio (“we”, “us”).

2. Age

You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, and you must meet the minimum age of the app store you download from. The app is not designed for or directed at children, and we do not knowingly hold information about anyone aged 13 or under.

3. What Menos is, and what it is not

Menos shows short motivational lines on a schedule you choose and counts a streak. It runs on your device.

It is not medical, psychological, nutritional or fitness advice, and it is not a substitute for professional care. Nothing in it is a training programme or a treatment plan. You decide what to act on, and you are responsible for training and living safely. If you are injured, unwell or in crisis, speak to a qualified professional. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

The app is deliberately blunt. If its tone is not good for you, stop using it and delete it.

4. No account

There is no sign-up. Your likes, streak, settings and reminders are stored on your device. If you delete the app or lose the phone, that is gone, and we cannot restore it because we never held it.

5. Fair use

Menos is for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

  • use the app for any unlawful purpose;
  • reverse engineer or decompile it, or extract its quote catalog, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
  • copy, resell or republish its content as your own, including republishing the catalog in another app, feed or product;
  • interfere with how the app works, or work around paid access.

Sharing a quote card with friends or on social media is fine. That is what the share button is for.

6. Our content, and yours

The app, its name, its artwork and its writing belong to Pixelbrew Studio and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app. They transfer no ownership to you.

Quotes you write yourself stay yours.

7. Subscription and payment

Menos offers paid access as a subscription. What it costs is always shown in the app before you buy.

  • Payment is handled by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details.
  • A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings, not in the app.
  • Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its policy. We cannot issue them directly.

8. Changes to the app

We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop publishing the app. Where we can, we will keep paid features working for people who already bought them, but we cannot promise that any particular feature lasts forever. The app also needs your device to meet its minimum operating system version, and that may rise as we support newer ones.

9. Disclaimer

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result for you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pixelbrew Studio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any injury, loss or damage that follows from acting on something you read in it. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions. Where that is the case they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Ending it

You can stop using Menos at any time by deleting it. We may end your access if you breach these terms, including by working around paid access or extracting the app’s content.

12. Third-party services

Menos uses an analytics tool, a subscription provider and the app stores themselves. What each one receives is described in the Privacy Policy. Their own terms govern their services.

13. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The version published here is always the current one, and the date at the top of the page is when it last changed. Using the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If something is wrong, email us first, because that settles most things. Anything that cannot be settled that way goes to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless your local law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Pixelbrew Studio about the app.
